Whitney Blake Company, located in Bellows Falls, VT, manufactures wires, cables, and interconnect solutions. Founded in 1899, the company has long specialized in designing and customizing solutions to precisely meet customer needs.
They have worked with major brands across multiple industries, including: Consumer Electronics (Bose, Plantronics, Shure), Fire and Safety (Bosch Security Systems), Manufacturing (Diamond Power, Otto), Medicine and Healthcare (Welch Allyn, Carefusion), and Military (U.S. Army).
Whitney Blake handles a variety of connection solutions daily. Since tension is critical in producing high-quality wires and cables, the Tensitron TX-1 and LX-1 series tension meters are used throughout their wire and cable manufacturing facility every day.
Tensitron has become Whitney Blake’s go-to provider due to the reliability of its tension meters.
Proper tension and tension balance are essential. Excessive tension can cause inner wires to cut into each other and create electrical shorts, while under-tensioning can lead to kinks and bulges in completed wires.
The Tensitron LX-50-1 tension meter is used when producing larger wires. The process begins as workers twist the inner wires and required components. Each wire may contain anywhere from 2 to 27 inners. After wrapping, the tension is tested.
Once proper tension is achieved, the cable enters the jacketing machine, which adds insulation and protection for the inner wires.
For Whitney Blake, precision is the key feature of Tensitron meters. They rely on the LX-50-1 to consistently produce top-quality completed products.
